Connecting the LUMIX S9
- Install LUMIX Tether 2.7 or later from Panasonic, and update the body's firmware first.
- Power the camera from mains through a DC coupler for any session longer than a few minutes.
- Set Setup → IN/OUT → USB → USB Mode → PC(Tether).
- Connect a data-rated USB cable directly to the computer, then launch the application.
- Select the body in the camera list and confirm live view appears before you start shooting.

What this body does well tethered
- Small enough for tight product setups and travel tethering where a rig is impractical.
- Same remote exposure and direct-saving basics as the larger S bodies.
Limitations to plan around
- No mechanical shutter, so shutter-driven studio flash workflows need care with sync settings.
- No wired LAN option; the body is designed around mobile and USB workflows.
Problems specific to the LUMIX S9
Studio strobes misfire in tethered shooting.
